Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API

September 14, 2009

I recently got this Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API error message when working on a friends Acer One netbook. Here’s the fix that worked for me.

If you do alot of searching on Google for Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API. You will find that it has to do with memory issues and that Microsoft has issued a hotfix to correct the problem. Well that’s all fine and dandy. However the issue with this netbook wasn’t that.

And in any case the netbook had the lsass error on boot. Not when trying to hibernate. I couldn’t log into windows to see what was going on.

In comes Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. Now the netbook doesn’t have a cd rom in it. it’s too small. So you’ll have to find a external cd rom or boot from a thumb drive to get this to work. I used a external dvdrom. I booted up the netbook and looked at the hard drive.

Guess what folks. The hard drive had 0 space free!!! lol. Of course since this is a netbook. There’s only like 7.4 gigs of space available on the hard drive anyways.

So the fix for Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API error message and you can’t log into windows, boot up with ubcd4win and clear up some space on the hard drive. I hope that this helps some of you that can’t boot into windows. The rest of you will probably benefit from the microsoft patch.

good luck all
